Well hey there! My name is Ray and I am the CEO of FLTR Aesthetics & Beauty.

I have been in the beauty industry for nearly 7 years. If you have been following me since the beginning of my journey, you would know my business originally started as LuxeBeauty By Ray. However, in January 2023 we underwent a complete re-brand and FLTR was born!

The idea behind the name FLTR came from the overuse of filters we see these days. The most common request I receive is ‘I just want to look like I have a filter on’… and that’s how FLTR came to be!

In 2017, I had my son. Whilst on maternity leave, the thought of going back to work filled me with dread. This is when I completed my first beauty courses - Level 3 Nails and Lash Extensions. After returning to work part-time (as a recruitment consultant) I knew that it just wasn’t for me anymore.

Whilst working part-time, any time I had free (as free as you can with a newborn) I focussed on lashing - nails was never for me.

Eventually, I decided that if I was ever going to take this seriously, I had to give it 100%. It was at that point, I quit my job and dedicated all my time to lashing.

Over the next few years I completed a number of courses, however I strongly believe in only carrying out treatments I am passionate about. Do I regret spending money on other courses? No, as you never know if you never try.

Fast forward, 2 children and several lockdowns later, I completed my training qualification and became an accredited lash trainer.

As much as I love training and plan to continue with it at a later date, something was missing.

I always held an interest in the world of aesthetics but never thought it would be for me as I had a GIANT fear of needles. I let this hold me back until I simply couldn’t anymore. I thought about it constantly, I dreamt about it, it was on my mind 24/7 and at that moment, I knew I had to take the leap. In November 2022 I booked my foundation dermal filler course for January 2023…

and the rest, is history! I totally and completely fell in love.

I’d found my calling. From there, my business went from strength to strength. I have since completed a Russian Lip Masterclass, Advanced Dermal Fillers, Cheek, Chin & Jaw Masterclass and Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolving. I am constantly updating my knowledge within the industry and seeking to improve my skillset as you can never stop learning.

As well as being shortlisted as a finalist for Best Mega Volume Set for the Lash Awards 2022, I have also more recently been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2024 HBA Beauty Awards for the Best New Talent.

My favourite treatments are Lip Filler and Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty as well as facial balancing packages.

My journey hasn’t been easy, building a business is hard enough - doing it with 2 children sometimes seemed impossible. I left a 9-5 to work 24/7 BUT, if you want it and you believe in yourself and most importantly INVEST in yourself - you can make it happen.
